How We Test Every Batch

Every batch of ProGrow is made at our own plant in Goa, sieved to remove stones and lumps, and tested for pH, EC (salt level) and moisture before packing.

What we check

pH

How acidic or alkaline the mix is.

EC (salt level)

How much salt is in the mix.

Moisture

Kept slightly moist on purpose, to keep the live cultures active.

Live cultures

Each 10 L bag gets a microbial inoculant with Trichoderma, Pseudomonas, Azotobacter and VAM (mycorrhiza), rated by its manufacturer at 1 × 10⁹ CFU per gram, and also:

Endomycorrhiza (9 species)

Glomus aggregatum, G. intraradices, G. mosseae, G. etunicatum — 83 propagules/g each.

G. clarum, G. monosporum, Paraglomus brazilianum, G. deserticola, Gigaspora margarita — 11 propagules/g each.

Ectomycorrhiza (7 species)

Pisolithus tinctorius — 187,875 propagules/g.

Rhizopogon luteolus, R. fulvigleba, R. villosulus, R. amylopogon, Scleroderma citrinum, S. cepa — 5,219 propagules/g each.

Bacteria (12 species)

Azotobacter chroococcum; Bacillus subtilis, B. licheniformis, B. azotoformans, B. megaterium, B. coagulans, B. pumilus, B. amyloliquefaciens; Paenibacillus durum, P. polymyxa; Pseudomonas aureofaciens, P. fluorescens — 525,000 CFU/g each.

Other cultures

Trichoderma koningii — 187,875 CFU/g.

Trichoderma harzianum — 125,250 CFU/g.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae — 525,000 CFU/g.

Counts are per gram of the inoculant.

How we test

When is each batch tested?

Before packing. We take samples from every batch.

Our own lab tests the samples for each component, following our standard operating procedure. Then an independent laboratory tests them for pH, EC and moisture.

A batch that does not pass the check is not packed.
